RN Residential Manager 

Job Summary:

Provide nursing oversight, training needs, and medical direction to Easter Seals Southern Georgia’s Residential Properties to insure optimal client care. Responsible for providing direct supervision to Clinical Health Nurses.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Residential Services staff to insure all assigned clients are receiving optimal standards of medical care.
  • Provide nursing assessments and oversight to assigned clients designated and as needed for other sites.
  • Following Exceptional Rate Requirements, monthly nursing oversight may include the following tasks:
    • Review logs and forms on file for clients.
    • Review Medication Administration Records for clients.
    • Assist staff in the entry of medications in electronic medical documentation system.
    • Review physician orders for clients.
    • Create, review and assist with medical protocols for clients.
    • Complete physical assessments as needed for assigned clients.
    • Review DSP, LPN and RN documentation and report to Regional Managers.
    • Insure communication and follow-up from medical appointments are completed.
    • Review HRST (Health Risk Screening Tool) for clients.
    • Review SIS (Support Intensity Scale) for clients.
    • Assist the Director of Residential Services in review of potential clients and evaluate appropriate placement.
    • Create and provide medical training to staff as dictated by client needs.
    • Provide medical expertise and guidance for staff.
    • Assist Director of Residential Services in the transition process for new clients.
    • Monitor and insure client health, safety, development and quality of care.
    • Report observed change in medical needs that could require an Exceptional Rate Request.
    • Attend medical appointments as needed for clients.
    • May require communication with client’s physicians for special circumstances.
    • In the absence of regularly scheduled staff, may assume responsibilities and shifts of those positions.
    • Maintain cleanliness and functional operation of local satellite office.
    • Complete continuing education as required for growth and development.
    • Insure submission of required documents to various departments as scheduled.
    • Interact with Regional Boards, Clients, Families and ESSG staff including attending board meetings and other leadership responsibilities as appropriate.
    • Follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy rule to insure client protected health information is secure.
    • Maintain knowledge and understanding of Easter Seals Southern Georgia policies and procedures.
    • In the absence of the Director of Residential Services, may assume duties and responsibilities of this position.
    • All other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • 24 hours a day / 7 days weekly availability for emergency situations.
  • Travel to multiple ESSG properties for site assessments, meetings and events.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds and occasionally lift and carry items weighting up to 100 pounds.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to speak publicly in a training forum to staff and the community.
  • Use of technology and office equipment including: laptop, email, Smartphone, Microsoft Office Suite, scanner, fax, printer, PolicyStat system, THERAP system, Client Information System (CIS), Health Risk Screening Tool (HRST) and other client records management systems.

Job Specifications (Characteristics to perform successfully):

  • Require and insure a high standard of client care from regional team.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and execute expectations from different departments.
  • Maintain objectivity in position in order to set appropriate limits while working with clients.
  • Work cooperatively and responsively with ESSG Leadership to ensure optimal care of clients.
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with Clients, Families, Co-Workers and Community Members.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and exhibit organizational skills.
  • Support clients in personal growth and development while respecting differences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse License for State of Georgia.
  • CPR/AED certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years RN experience in Disability Services.
