Development Coordinator

Department: 001 - Administration
Location: Albany, GA
Salary: $0 - $0 Per Hour

Job Summary:

Responsible for supporting the organizations communication, promotion and administration of all development activities including individual giving, corporate and foundation support and fundraising events.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate Relationships:
    • Develop relationships with community organizations and corporations for outreach and development.
    • Manage donor database to cultivate and improve relationships.
    • Identify and build relationships with potential donors.
    • Write and send letters of thanks to donors.
    • Coordinate and execute special mailings.
    • Secure commitments of participation or donation from individuals and corporate donors.
    • Work with the Marketing and Development team to develop strategies to encourage new or increased contributions.
    • Prospecting and Fundraising:
      • Obtain corporate sponsorships for ongoing relationships to support the organization through events and special projects.
      • Conduct fundraising campaigns.
      • Plan, coordinate and execute fundraising events.
      • Work with the Marketing and Development team for the production of materials and promotion of events and campaigns.
      • Grant Research and Writing
        • Research grant opportunities for available funding by identifying grants that match the objective of the organization.
        • Draft and submit grant proposals to secure grant funding for the organization.
        • Additional grant writing tasks may include responding to fundersí questions about a proposal, developing relationships with foundations, and documenting a grantís impact at the conclusion of a project.
        • File and maintain records for the department including correspondence, invoices, receipts and other records in alphabetical or numerical order or according to the filing system used. Purge and remove files as needed.
        • Follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy rule to insure protected health information is secure.
        • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of information and knowledge received.
        • Maintain knowledge and understanding of Easter Seals Southern Georgia policies and procedures.
        • All other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Extensive overnight travel requiring dependable transportation.
  • Ability to bend, stoop and physically maneuver to organize and maintain documents and files.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to speak publicly for various groups to advocate for ESSG mission, vision, values and clients.
  • Use of technology and office equipment including: telephone system, computer, email, Smartphone, Microsoft Office Suite, scanner, fax, printer, postage machine, bulk mail process, graphic design software and other marketing software and tools.

  • Exhibit a high standard of customer service and leadership to effectively manage relationships with donors, businesses, coworkers, employees, legislators, community officials and other contacts.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and execute expectations from different departments.
  • Work cooperatively and responsively with ESSG Leadership to insure the appropriate outreach and development for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with Contacts, Business Leaders, Coworkers and Community Members.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and exhibit extensive organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
  • Possess careful attention to detail and accuracy to properly project the Brand and professional image of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelorís Degree in related field or 3+ years of work experience.
  • Experience in obtaining substantial funds and major gift cultivation for similar organizations.
